POETS WILL NEED A TOTAL OF 6 POEMS TO WIN
*Rules could vary slightly based on number of competitors*
Prelim rounds will be 3 separate bouts of 10 poets. Each bout will be 3 rounds. *eliminations are 10 – 8 – 6
Prelim rounds is cumulative first 2 rounds. Final round is clean slate
*Top 12 make it to Final Stage. Will take top 4 poets of each bout
The 1st place winners of the prelim rounds will be awarded a refund on their $150 registration
*Final Stage 12 – 7 – 4
Final Stage is cumulative first 2 rounds. Final round is clean slate
Half Point deduction for every 10 secs over allotted time.
Prelims poets will have 3min and a 10 sec grace
Final Stage will be 3min and 20 sec grace
NO POEM REPEAT
Ties will be broken by one more poem, judges will write poets name on a piece of paper and that is who win. This can be a repeat poem, but cannot use a poem already slammed in that particular bout.
Protest to Scores must be done after bout before score sheets are signed. Once score sheets are signed no protest can be issued. Score sheets MUST BE signed by all competitors.
2 Judges will be randomly selected. With the remaining 3 randomly selected from a pre-selected group of Judges if available

each poet will slam each night, 1 poem. Everyone goes to finals and Eliminations will START at finals. The winner of each bout will still receive a refund of their registration, if a poet wins multiple bouts, then they are only refunded the same $150.
Prelim Rounds are 3:00 min with the standard 10 sec grace time
Final Stage is 3:00 min with the standard 20 sec grace time
There will be 5 judges for the evening some of whom have been preselected based on volunteer availability to ensure we have the judges in place
THERE IS STILL A NO REPEAT RULE IN EFFECT THROUGHOUT THE COMPETITION . You will need 6 POEMS TO WIN the competition!
Bout Draw will be done by the poets prior to the bout.
